In September 2017, the Royal Statistical Society (RSS) organised a successful and well-attended conference up in Glasgow, which included several sessions focused on statistics in sport. The "Best of MathSport International" session was particularly popular, and included a presentation by PhD student Ollie Hatfield on his work on detecting match-fixing in tennis - part of an ongoing collaboration between ATASS Sports and Lancaster STORi doctoral training centre.

ATASS Sports were also delighted to once again sponsor the RSS 2017 Pub Quiz on the Wednesday night of Conference, which was expertly organised by members of the Young Statisticians Section (YSS).
